Computer System upgrade (July 2014)

In 2013 a national computer programme upgrade began across NHS Wales, with all GP practices having to adopt new and improved clinical systems.

Haygarth Doctors will be having our new clinical system installed during July, and will go live on the 30th July 2014. During the week beginning 28th July there will be disruption to normal services, but we are already working hard to ensure a smooth transition. The surgery will remain OPEN for urgent problems, but routine services will be minimal. There will be times when there will be no access to patient information. It would therefore be helpful if you bring with you details of any medication you are currently taking if you need to attend during the week of 28th July.

REPEAT MEDICATION weeks beginning 21st & 28th July – Please order by 10th July to ensure your medication will be ready for collection, or your prescription available to take to the pharmacy. Medication will be ready for collection on normal collection dates.  The local pharmacies will be working with us to ensure that services will not be disrupted for patients; however we advise all patients to ensure they have adequate supplies of their usual medication over the transition period.

Patients currently using PATIENT ACCESS, the on-line appointment booking and repeat prescription system
should note that this service will be unavailable
from Wednesday 23rd July.
Please click here for information on the new
on-line service, My Health Online (PDF file).
Normal services are expected to run from 30th July; however with any new system we may experience teething problems during the initial stages.

The Doctors and Staff at Haygarth Surgery would like to thank you for your co-operation during this time.

Our FLU Campaign for this year will start in October

Haygarth Doctors Sponsored Walk

On Saturday the 21st June 2014 Haygarth Doctors will be practicing what we preach and participating in a 10 mile section of the Wye Valley Walk to promote healthy living. We are hoping to raise money for two great charities, the Hay-on-Wye dial-a-ride scheme, which is of great benefit to many of our patients, and also guide dogs for the blind, helping to fund the training of these fabulous animals for the visually impaired. If you would like to donate to these worthwhile causes, sponsor forms are available at both Hay and Talgarth surgeries and any donations will be gratefully received.

TIMBUKTU HEALTH LINK

As a practice we support medical projects in Timbuktu which are in association with Hay2Timbuktu. If you would like to know more about the link and projects

The Haygarth Doctors practice area is covered out of hours by Shropdoc as commissioned
by Powys Local Health Board. When the surgery is closed and you need medical advise,
please telephone: NHS Direct on 0845 46 47 (web-site click HERE).
For urgent problems phone Shropdoc on 08444 06 8888

If you ring the surgery number out-of-hours, you will be automatically diverted to Shropdoc.
Please remain near the phone and keep the line clear so that the doctor can call you back.
Patients with injuries should go directly to a Minor Injuries or A&E Department of their choice
